Gurmeet Singh Gill Leads Dhanula Union, Focus on Rights & Anti-Drugs
Dhanula, Punjab – In an important development, on 02/09/2024 the election of Punjab Mazdoor Union Dhanula President was held under the supervision of District Superintendent Malkeet Singh.
Gurmeet Singh Gill has been elected as the new president of Dhanula Mazdoor Union. During this election, new office bearers were appointed to important positions in the union. Chairman Baljit Khan, President Gurmeet Singh, Senior Vice President Manjit Singh, Vice President Gurjit Singh, General Secretary Nirbhai Singh, Treasurer Gurtej Singh, Assistant Secretary Ram Singh, Assistant Treasurer Kala Singh, Secretary Baru Singh and Jathe Bandi Member Binder Singh etc.
After his appointment, Gurmeet Singh Gill announced that his main focus as the new president would be to combat the growing drug problem in the region. He said, “Our first objective is to fight against drugs. We must work together to keep our community safe and drug-free.”
Gill also emphasized the union’s commitment to worker safety. In case of any injury during work, the union will provide financial assistance from a special fund collected for this purpose. “If a worker is injured, we will ensure that they get the help they need through the fund we have set up,” he explained.
Taking a tough stand against workplace bullying and harassment, the newly-appointed president assured union members that anyone who bullies or mistreats an employee will face legal action. Reiterating his commitment to upholding workers’ rights, Gill said, “We will take strict legal action against anyone who bullies any worker. Every worker will be guaranteed their due rights.”
Gill promised transparency and participation in decision-making, saying that every major decision would be taken in consultation with the labor union. This approach aims to promote unity and ensure that all members’ voices are heard.
The newly elected leadership is expected to bring a renewed sense of purpose to the Dhanula Labor Union, focusing on the welfare of workers and ensuring a safe and fair work environment for all workers.
